Dr Stefano Sansone is an experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist. He is highly accomplished in managing a wide range of digestive health issues, with a particular focus on advanced endoscopic techniques. Dr Sansone completed his medical degree at the Second University of Naples, School of Medicine, Italy, in 2009, before undertaking specialist training in gastroenterology at the University of Naples Federico II. During this period, he became certified in both upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy. His clinical practice is underpinned by a commitment to delivering precise, evidence-based diagnostics and treatment, ensuring patients receive comprehensive and compassionate care for their conditions.
Dr Sansone’s expertise lies in therapeutic endoscopy, where he specialises in complex endoscopic resection techniques. This includes advanced procedures such as Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR) and Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD), which are crucial for treating early-stage tumours and complex polyps in the gastrointestinal tract. His skill in this area was honed through additional training under internationally renowned endoscopy experts, and he has been an accredited bowel cancer screening endoscopist since 2020. Beyond his clinical duties, Dr Sansone maintains an active role in academia and research. He has been a driving force behind several research projects, with findings published in leading peer-reviewed journals and presented at major international meetings, demonstrating his dedication to advancing the field of gastroenterology.
