Dr Azhar Hussain is a highly accomplished Consultant Gastroenterologist and Advanced Endoscopist with a specialist focus on pancreatico-biliary medicine. His clinical expertise spans a broad spectrum of general gastroenterology, where he provides expert care for both acute and chronic conditions. Azhar is particularly adept at managing Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), and persistent symptoms such as heartburn and acid reflux, ensuring a comprehensive approach to patient digestive health.
His rigorous medical training was completed across the West Midlands, a period during which he gained invaluable experience at the Liver Transplant Centre at Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Following the completion of his specialist training, Azhar undertook a prestigious one-year Post-CCT fellowship at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, focusing on Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and advanced endoscopic procedures. His commitment to clinical excellence is underpinned by a strong academic foundation, holding an MBBS, MRCP, and the European Speciality Examination in Gastroenterology and Hepatology (ESEGH). He is also accredited by the ECFMG in the United States.
